Lockey 2200 Surface-Mount Slide-Bar Deadbolt Keypad Lock

The Lockey 2200 Surface-Mount Slide-Bar Deadbolt Keypad Lock has bar that slides back and forth to lock and unlock. Because it is surface-mounted, it works well in places where a hole cannot be made in the edge of a door for a deadbolt. It is often used on aluminum and glass retail storefront doors with high employee turnover so they can change change the combination, not the lock.

Slider Bars
Please note: the extension (measurement of how far the bolt extends when the lock is in the locked position) is:
  • Short slider bar: 7/8"
  • Long slider bar: 2-1/4 "
A long slider bar will work on a gate with a gap of up to 2" (roughly) between the gate post and the gate itself as long as the lock in installed right at the edge of the gate.

The throw for both slider bars is the same: 3/4", so each bar will only move 3/4" to the left or right when the knob is turned to unlock the lock. Therefore, the slider bar could extend past the edge of the gate when unlocked. This is usually an acceptable trade off for situations where there is a wide gap between the gate and the post because moving the gate or the post closer to each other is usually much more difficult.

Locking and Unlocking

Unlocking a keypad combination lock is quick and easy:

  • On the inside, you don't need the combination to lock this lock—just turn the turn knob or thumb turn to retract the deadbolt.
  • On the outside, first press the "C" button or turn the thumb turn as far as it will go. This will clear out any previous keypad entries.
  • Next, enter in the secret code.
  • Finally, turn the knob, lever handle, or thumb turn to retract the deadbolt.

Locking is even easier:

  • Just turn the knob, lever handle, or thumbturn to extend the deadbolt into the locked position. You don't even need to enter the code.

Installation & Documentation

Replace Your Existing Lock— the Lockey 2200 Lock can be used to completely replace an existing deadbolt, latchbolt, or just a plain door knob. Just take off your existing door hardware and install this one in its place. It has been designed to easily retrofit onto standard doors.

Use with Your Existing Lock—you can also leave your existing lock in place and install this lock either above or below it for added security and convenience. If you do this, people who know your secret code will only be able to enter when both locks are unlocked, perhaps, during the day, for example.
