This is a drive-in style cylindrically shaped (i.e., a non-mortised style) deadbolt that is inserted into the edge of a door or gate, rather than surface-mounted. This Lockey drive-in deadbolt does NOT have a rectangular faceplate so it can be installed in a door that does not have a recessed area on the edge. It has an adjustable backset of either 2-3/8" or 2- 3/4". For door prepare, use a 1" diameter edge bore.
