SmartCards are similar to key tags and key FOBs, except that proximity cards do not need to actually need to touch a lock to open it. Instead, simply hold a SmartCard close to an E5-RF Proximity Card Locks and the lock will automatically open, provided that the lock has been pre-programmed to recognize the SmartCard and allow access at the given date and time.
