Keyless locks that will not automatically lock themselves are called manual keypad deadbolt locks. With these locks, you will need to turn the knob (on either the inside or outside of the lock) each time you want to lock the combination deadbolt lock on your door.
The bolt on a deadbolt combination lock usually extends 1-1/8" out from the edge of the door when in the locked position. It also has a flat end instead of a diagonal-cut end as is seen on a latchbolt.
