Screws
This kit comes with replacement screws in 2 different lengths. Depending on your lock, you will get either 2 screws (for 2000, 2800, 3000, C-Series, and M-Series locks) or 4 screws (for 1000 Series locks).
Hex Bolts
Hex bolts are bolts that are flat on 6 sides, so they don't roll off a countertop. The male end screws into the outside lock body. The female end is threaded to accept a lock screw. Hex bolts and screws keep a lock securely fastened to the door or gate box. Two hex bolts are included with each lock ordered. If you lose one or both of the originals, you can replace them with the ones in this kit.
Hex bolts are not shown in the photos above as they used to be sold separately but have recently been added to the kit. Click here to see what a hex bolt looks like: Lockey Replacement Hex Bolts (Discontinued)
Tumblers
Tumblers are small pieces of metal that look a bit like a puzzle piece. They come in 2 blues and 1 red and are used to set the combination.
Lock Spindles
The lock spindle, sometimes called a tailpiece, is the flat metal bar that is installed between the outside lock body and the inside lock body. When installed, the lock spindle passes through the deadbolt (or latchbolt). When you enter your code and turn the knob (or lever handle), the lock spindle rotates and retracts the deadbolt (or latchbolt) allowing the door to open.
Lock spindles come in different 2 different lengths, to accommodate different door thicknesses. These sizes vary depending on the lock model, so please specify which lock model you have when you add this item to your cart.
Tweezers
Tweezers are used to move the small components around inside the outside body of these locks. You may also use a pair of needle nose pliers if you have a pair handy.
