Component Details

This kit comes with replacement screws in 2 different lengths. Depending on your lock, you will get either 2 screws (for 2000, 2800, 3000, C-Series, and M-Series locks) or 4 screws (for 1000 Series locks).

Tumblers are the small pieces of metal that look a bit like a puzzle piece. They come in 2 blues and 1 red and are used to set the combination.

Lock Spindles

The lock spindle, sometimes called a tail piece, is the flat metal bar which is installed between the outside lock body and the inside lock body. When installed, the lock spindle passes through the deadbolt (or latchbolt). When you enter your code and turn the knob (or lever handle), the lock spindle rotates and retracts the deadbolt (or latchbolt) allowing the door to open.

Lock spindles come in different 2 different lengths, to accommodate different door thickness. These sizes varies depending on the lock model, so please specify which lock model you have when you add this item to your cart.

Tweezers are used to move the small components around inside the outside body of these locks. You may also use a pair of needle nose pliers, if you have a pair handy.
